Senior Sales Consultant

Target Compensation: Base + Commission + Bonus with a realistic target of $120K – uncapped.

Manticore Technology is a Leader in providing Marketing Automation / Demand Generation technology and we are adding a key position to our small team. This critical addition to our software sales team will serve in a key Senior Sales Consultant role. We are seeking an extraordinarily talented individual that craves a challenge and is unafraid to venture out of their own comfort zone. A job at a small and rapidly growing company is not for everyone, but you will work with experienced mentors and learn as much working here in three months as you would most companies in a year.

This is an opportunity to get into a great company while we are still small. To be successful in this role, you must be very hungry, very persistent, and have the ability to overcome objections. You will need to be a quick learner who can become an expert on our technology and the technology of our competitors, and must come across as intelligent and professional. In this role you will need to communicate with successful and accomplished executives in high tech businesses and demonstrate why we are the right fit for their business - even if we cost more. You will work closely with them throughout the sales process and will be responsible for negotiating price and contract terms. You need to be polished and well spoken. You will need to be able to position our solution against numerous competitors and find ways to differentiate. Motivation and energy are the name of the game. We are looking for a sales person that can manage a broad territory and be able to carry the entire sales process from start to finish on your own merits and skills. This doesn’t mean we won’t be helping you sell – but we believe strongly in a sales person that has the ability to play all of the important sales roles, from:
  • Knowing how to develop their own pipeline
  • Being confident in selling a $40-$50K + SaaS solution
  • Ability to stay in contact with and nurture those prospects that are not ready to buy
  • Understand the business challenges that our customers face and explain how our solution will solve their specific challenges
  • Demonstrating the value propositions of our products and services
  • Understanding the basics of our solution technically and at least be able to communicate some of the technical aspects at a high level
  • Working through the contract negotiation process in terms of both cost and contract specifics
  • Executing at 110% to achieve your quarterly / annual quota of signed agreements

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience selling SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions to B2B Sales and Marketing executives but other sales experience will be considered. Established relationships with marketing people at high tech companies is a big plus. The more experience you have here the better. Our solution is focused on optimizing sales and marketing efforts thus a background in sales / marketing, CRM technology will be a plus. If you don’t have this background you will need to convince us that you have the ability to learn these ropes quickly and bring a perspective that can easily be adapted.

Though you will receive leads that are generated by our marketing efforts, just following up on those will not get you to quota. We are not looking for an account manager or developer but rather an account creator. You have to be hungry and enjoy building a market. It is critical that you are passionate about joining Manticore and not just looking to leave where you are today.

Finally, we are looking for a candidate that is extraordinarily bright and flexible. The best people in small companies usually end up serving in multiple roles as the company grows. Flexibility and a desire to constantly learn and push yourself is absolutely required to succeed in this environment.

Job Qualifications
  • Education
    • Bachelors degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Required Experience
    • 5+ years work experience in a demanding and challenging sales role
    • Expert in selling a specialized product in a relatively new industry (with a proven need)
  • Desired Experience
    • Selling to sales and marketing executives within high-tech B2B businesses
    • Selling sales / marketing / CRM solutions
  • Desired Skills
    • Expert user of current web/online communication technologies, including browsers, search, email, instant messaging, and forums/message boards
    • Advanced user of new and emerging web/online communication technologies, such as RSS, blogs, social networks, etc.
    • Knowledge of online marketing techniques, technologies, and media
    • Passion for technology, particularly online marketing technologies
